The Sweet Taste Of Success!

Hi there Yes Chef! fans,

As previously stated, if you are following us on social media networks, we have been very busy the past couple of weeks. Most notable at Taste Of Dubai. For those of you who do not know what that is, it is a large food festival held hear in Dubai so that people from all over the UAE can come and try the different foods available to them from very different styles and cultures. W had our own stand there and spent the entire weekend handing out some absolutely amazing food to passers by.

This was a great event for us as not only was the food on offer free, but it gave us the opportunity to reach out to those who had previously not heard of us (if that is at ALL possible!) and to see familiar faces once again. The concept of what we do is often met with surprise by those not in the know and interest is always sparked by the image of food being brought to your home, cooked and served for you and then tidied away afterwards, yet those who have used us are always exceptionally happy with the service provided. It is the simple ideas that are always the best and there is none more simple than providing great food and great service.
We also ran a competition to celebrate the festival where people could win the chance to have Yes Chef! come to their house and provide a fine dining experience for four, completely free of charge. Naturally the level of involvement was enormous and people were desperate to make sure they were in with a chance to win. Who wants to turn down the chance to have free food?! This was great for us as it made a huge number of people aware of the kind of catering service we provide in Dubai. However there can be only one winner, which was announced last week, and we are sure they will be delighted with the prize.
For those that didn't win we made sure there was a sweet treat for them too. Everyone who entered there details into our competition were offered a discount on their next booking with Yes Chef! catering. Thus proving even if you don't win, your still a winner in our eyes!
One thing that really took people by surprise though was that we are in fact a catering company. Many people asked us where our restaurant was or if we had cafés around Dubai and when we told them that as of yet we didn't they were shocked. We were delighted that many of them said the food they tried was up to the highest quality they have tasted in top quality restaurants. We know this to be true, but it never hurts to hear someone else say it!
Following Taste Of Dubai was Art Week. This happened across a number of galleries all across Dubai but we catered for one in particular, if you can call someones house full of art a gallery!

Catering in Dubai can be a tough business sometimes, especially when the party doesn't stop until 3am! However it was another great outlet to show people that even with double the original numbers, we can still provide a quality service and show the preparedness to ensure that there was food enough for all. Catering at these kind of events not only is our bread and butter (excuse the pun) as a service provider but demonstrates to all types of prospective clients our versatility and range in both food and service.
It seems like it never rains but it pours as we continue to be exceptionally busy making sure that your events are catered for properly. We don't mind all the hard work though, in the words of Ernest Hemingway, "Through hard work do we burn the fat from our souls." We keep busy and keep providing you with the best catering service in Dubai so you can keep throwing the best parties in Dubai!

Thanks for reading and don't forget to follow us on all our social media networks!

When the fridge is empty.

Hello Yes Chef fans!
Ever opened the fridge to find that you have next to nothing in it? Not that it happens in our kitchen but sometimes at home we find that there is nothing inside. One of the perks of being in the catering industry is that you often eat at work. One of the downsides is that you never have any food in the house!
We posted a picture today of a returning favourite among clients today of a blue cheese, walnut and honey mustard dressing salad. This recipe is a prime example of how to solve the problem of having nothing in the fridge at home. Not that this recipe was born out of necessity, but it illustrates how items that you often wouldn't imagine going together can and often do work in perfect harmony with one another.

This situation actually arose for this particular blogger not too long ago. Lunch time came around, the belly began to rumble and the though of food filled the brain. Upon inspection of the food stocks within the house it became very apparent that there were limited options! Mostly vegetables and sauces. A little bit more rummaging around led me to the conclusion that Asian cuisine was the most likely of routes to take for this meal.
Red peppers, broccoli, carrot, green beans, mushrooms, ginger, garlic and some onions all found their way onto the chopping board and into the pan. Luckily, there appears to be an abundance of Asian style sauces in the house which made for a very simple but authentic tasting sauce in which to cook it all. Fish sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, coriander powder mixed together is a basic but tasty mixture. Flushed with initial success at having created a palatable dish from next to nothing the horror dawn as I realised there was nothing to go with it. One final scramble through the cupboards proved fruitful and a packed of noodles was found at the very back.
Two minutes in boiling water then added to the wok to soak up some flavour and they were good to go. Very tasty it was too.
Have any of you ever thrown something together when it seemed like the fridge was bare? Let us know and share your story and photos.

Diet gone out the window already?

Hello Yes Chef fans!
We hope that you have been working hard so far in the New Year and that things are going well for you all. Things have been all go since Christmas and have not shown any sign of stopping. We are of course very thankful for this as it shows that all or hard work is paying off and that the service we provide, if we don't say so ourselves, is the best cartering in Dubai!
We have a great deal of new projects happening that are keeping us very busy also so we would like very much to progress with those over the course of the year. We, like many other, feel that 2013 is going to be a very progressive and very prosperous year. This now brings us on to our new topic. Diets. Of late and in recent years there has always been a new, 'fad diet,' that people dive into and quite shortly after as they either can't stand the food or are actually depriving themselves of the things in life that they want and or need in their diets. If you are a fan of our Facebook page (which we highly reccomend you become!) you wuld be aware of our superfoods suppliments list that we have been publishing. We are doing a top ten but we see no reason why we can't carry on with this after tha to provide you with top tips and information on not just superfoods but general healthy eating habits and meals. We always believe in starting as you mean to carry on so adding a healthy aspect to your diet is a great thing to continue.
The thing we find most about diets is that they are very restrictive. The word implies to us that you will be embarking on a very unhappy, tasteless and boring food regimine. You have a diet already, it's what you eat every day so to put yourself on a diet seems like a bit of a silly thing to do! We always reccomend that you shouldn't go on a diet, but to change your diet and your eating habits. Instead of cake for desert, fruit can suffice but if you MUST have cake, don't have an extra large piece. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to achieve good results with your weightloss, not with the flavours of your food.
We try to post as many great recipes that relate to eveything that we do as much as we can. Again you don't need to have super kitchen skills (which if you are reading and paying attention to our knife skills section on our Facebook page you will) to create great food. There is already too much stress in our daily lives to allow it to filter through to the things we eat. Food should be about being relaxed, enjoying it and it making you feel better. Not like you have a vendetta against your taste buds and waistline!
We are always available to answer any questions that you have about food or dietry requirements so make sure you get involved with us on all our social media outlets or speak with Scott directly.
We look forward to working with you over the next year and helping to make you happy and healthy.
